From green plantations on the hills to a fresh cup of coffee: Coffee is one of the new crops coming to Farming Simulator 25: Beans & Alpacas, alongside bananas.

Coffee adds a complete new line of work to your farm: establish plantations, manage plant health, operate specialized harvesting equipment and decide how far you want to take the harvest through production chains, that can ultimately lead to coffee beverages, tiramisu, coffee yogurt, and more. Five Growth States, Eight Months & Lots of Cherries

Coffee fits right into the hills of Catuaí. The plants progress through five growth states before their reddish cherries signal that they are ready for harvest. You won't need a conventional seeder or a seed rate per hectare. Coffee uses its own plantation system.

While the growth calendar defines the normal planting and harvesting cycle, plantations themselves can now be placed throughout the year. Their initial growth stage automatically adjusts according to the current season. At least, on Catuaí and its warm climate that has its own growth calendar.

Boundary Painting Makes Rows Easier to Set Up

Instead of placing every plantation row individually, a new boundary painting feature makes setting up larger plantations much faster. Simply paint the boundary of the area you want to use. The game calculates a suitable orientation for the plantation rows and presents the resulting layout. You can then adjust the angle, check the cost and fine-tune the plantation before placing it. This is an improved system similar to grapes and olives, which benefit from these improvements of the new system as well.

On Catuaí, coffee plantations feel particularly at home on the slopes. The map draws inspiration from South American landscapes and features the dense vegetation, red soil and rolling hills associated with coffee-growing regions in Brazil.

Treat Fungal Disease

Growing coffee also introduces another step between planting and harvesting. Your coffee plants can develop fungal disease on their leaves, requiring treatment with fungicide once per harvest cycle.

That's where the KUHN AFS 600 comes in. Fill the plantation sprayer with fungicide, head between the rows and get to work. Its spraying system can treat two plantation rows in a single pass.

Driving between tightly spaced rows is also made easier by GPS guidance, allowing you to focus more on operating the machinery and treating the plantation. If you prefer to concentrate on the other parts of coffee cultivation, fungal disease treatment can also be disabled.

Red Means Ready

Now Harvest Coffee Cherries!

After several months of growth, the plants begin to show their ripe, reddish fruit. And yes, the distinction matters: At this point, you're harvesting coffee cherries, not coffee beans.

For the harvest, the Case IH Coffee Express 200 Multi moves directly over the plantation rows. Its harvesting elements shake the cherries from the plants, collect them on a belt and transport them into the machine's tank. A cleaning unit separates leaves from the harvested cherries along the way.

The bushy coffee plants visibly compress as they pass through the harvester, while new particle effects add more movement to falling leaves and the harvested crop.

Once the harvester begins to fill up, the narrow Colombo CTG 4500 can move between the rows behind a tractor such as the New Holland 8030. That allows you to unload directly inside the plantation and transfer the cherries to a larger trailer outside the rows instead of repeatedly driving the harvester to the edge of the field.

Dry & Process Your Harvest

With the cherries collected, the next step takes you to the Coffee Processing Plant. You can deliver the crop there as a selling point, or take control of the facility yourself and continue processing the harvest.

Inside, the cherries go through the drying process that turns the harvested fruit into coffee ready for further production. Tanks, conveyor belts and animated processing equipment let you watch the crop move through the facility instead of making the transformation happen entirely behind the scenes. The result is Coffee Bags. And this is where the production chain starts branching out.

Roast It, Pack It, Brew It

A Production Chain with Several Destinations

Take your Coffee Bags to the Coffee Roastery and you can turn them into two additional products: Coffee Capsules and Packed Coffee. From there, coffee becomes part of several production chains around Catuaí. The Coffee Shop produces Coffee Beverages, while Packed Coffee can continue into other food productions. At the Bakery, combine coffee with eggs and flour to produce Tiramisu. At the Dairy, coffee joins sugar and milk to create Coffee Yogurt.
