This tutorial is about aquaculture. We will show you how to breed and sell trout and salmon.

What You Should Know About Breeding Salmon and Trout

Fish farming works like regular animal breeding, so we have a few tips for you in advance: 

• You breed the fish yourself. You don't buy them like cattle, for example.
• You breed young fish in a young fish breeding.
• Adult fish are bred in a fish lake on your property or in large offshore aquaculture facilities in large open waters.
  • Salmon are bred in offshore aquacultures.
  • Trouts are raised in offshore aquacultures and fish lakes
• Offshore aquaculture facilities are usually only accessible by boat.
• Instructions for using cargo vessels can be found below.

What You Need For Pisciculture

Here you will find all the necessary vehicles and machinery. For instructions, skip this chapter:

• You need a forklift to load and unload trailers with resources.
• You need a truck to transport your fish and feed with a trailer.
• You need a trailer to transport the fish and feed. 
• You need fish feed for your animals.
• You need a plot of land to place a young fish breeding and fish lake.
• You need a young fish breeding to breed fish. 
• You need a fish lake to breed trouts.
  OR
• You need an offshore aquaculture to breed trouts and salmon
  OPTIONAL:
• You need a cargo vessel to transport resources to the offshore aquaculture and back again. 
• You need a fish food factory if you want to mix feed for your fishes yourself.

How To Mix Fish Food

We will guide you step by step through the production of fish feed:

• Purchase the building: Either buy the production facility in Kinlaig or place a factory on one of your plots of land.
• Deliver the materials: To produce fish feed, you need flour, soybeans, and oil. It doesn't matter whether you use olive, canola, rice, or sunflower oil.
• Activate production: Open the production chain menu and activate the production of the respective feed.
• Feed your fish: The factory will soon start producing the first feed. Load it onto a truck and take it to your young fish breeding, fish lake, or offshore aquaculture facility.

How To Breed Fish

Follow these steps to breed fish:

1. Young fish breeding: Place the young fish breeding and deliver fish food. Then activate the breeding of trouts in the product chain menu.
2. Fish lake: Bring young trout to a fish lake. Deliver fish food here as well. Activate breeding here in the product chain menu.
3. Loading: Load the trailer of your truck to transport your fish to a point of sale.
4. Sale: Choose a point of sale and deliver the fish there.

OR

1. Young fish breeding: Place the young fish breeding and deliver fish food. Then activate the breeding of salmons in the product chain menu.
2. Cargo vessel: Load the ship with enough young salmon and feed. Then sail to the offshore aquaculture facility and unload the respective resources.
3. Offshore aquaculture: Activate breeding for the respective fish species you want in the product chain menu. 
4. Cargo ship: Then reload the cargo ship at the offshore aquaculture loading bay with the grown fish. Now you can transport them ashore.
5. Loading: Load the trailer of your truck to transport your fish to a point of sale.
6. Sale: Choose a point of sale and deliver the fish there.

How To Use The Crane Of The Cargo Vessel

Cargo ships are new vehicles in Farming Simulator 25. We'll show you how to load them correctly:

1. Purchase: Cargo vessels are not available from the usual vehicle dealer. There is a special boat store at the harbor.
2. Boarding: Jump onto the vessel or switch using your vehicle rotation to board and use the boat.
3. Drive: Drive the cargo vessel to the pier at the harbor and lower the loading ramp.
4. Loading: Use a forklift to maneuver the pallets from the trailer onto the ship. It is best to place them in the designated loading areas.
5. Securing the load: Then tighten the safety straps to prevent your valuable cargo from sinking into the sea. The forklift truck remains on the shore.
6. Drive to your destination: Drive the cargo vessel to your desired destination. Once you arrive, start with unloading your goods. 
7. Extend the crane: Extend the crane. Then switch from the driver's cab to the crane at the touch of a button, or stand next to the crane to hop in.
8. Lift objects with the crane: Maneuver the crane over the respective pallet. When the grab arm is correctly positioned, green safety straps will appear. Now you can connect the crane to the object. Then move the crane to the desired location.
9. Dropping objects: Have you got the pallet where you want it? Then simply press the corresponding button to drop it, and you're done!
