[Highlands Fishing] Fishing - How to catch fish

This tutorial is all about fishing. We show you where to get a fishing rod, how to use it and how you catch some fish. 

Buying And Using Fishing Rods

You can find the fishing rod at the hand tools section of the dealership. As soon as you have one, just equip it. Press the designated button for hand tools.

How To Fish

With these instructions, you'll soon have a fish wriggling on your hook:

1. Find a place to fish: You can fish in any body of water you find, even at sea using the sport boat.
2. Switch to fishing rod: Use the designated button to switch to the rod.
3. Cast the line: Look into the direction, where you want to cast the fishing rod and press the assigned button. The longer you hold it, the farther the bait will fly. 
4. Wait: Now we wait until the first fish bites the bait.
5. Catch: When the indicator appears, press the action button at the right moment! Otherwise, the fish will escape.
6. Reel the fish in: Now you need to use your fingertips: hold the hook parallel to the fish until the left bar is completely filled. You achieve this by pressing and holding the designated button.
7. Sell: Once you have landed the fish, you have two options: release it back into the water or sell it.

Tips For Fishing

• In very shallow waters, it takes longer for a fish to bite.
• The season also affects the waiting time when fishing.
• The longer you cast your line, the faster a fish will bite.
• You will find hotspots all over Kinlaig: These hotspots are not marked on the map and must be discovered by you!
• When you find a hotspot, the information will be displayed in the upper right corner.
