Machine Handling

How To Operate Your Machinery

  1. Position Your Vehicle:
Park your vehicle right beside the tool or attachment you plan to operate. Press the assigned button to connect your equipment securely.
  2. Refill Resources (Seeds, Fertilizer, etc.):
If your machine requires additional materials, move it next to the appropriate supply source and press the designated button to refill. This ensures your machinery is fully prepared for the task.
  3. Start Working in the Field:
Drive to your field and activate your equipment. Unfold your machine or vehicle, lower it if needed, and you’re all set to begin the fieldwork.

Step By Step: How To Grow Onions

These steps guide you through the process of growing and harvesting onions:

  1. Applying lime: Fill lime into your fertilizer spreader and cover your field.
  2. Cultivate your field: Prepare your field and work the lime into the ground.
  3. Planting onions:  Fill your planter with seeds and plant one row after another.
  4. Fertilizing: Unload the rest of your lime and replace it with fertilizer. Maximize the yield of your crops by fertilizing twice during two distinct growth phases of your onions.
  5. Weeding: Weeds will grow pop up soon. Get rid of weeds as soon as possible. They mess with your yield and get tougher to clear out the longer you wait. Use a weeder. Later, you’ll need a hoe or a sprayer to deal with them.
  6. Harvest: Connect your harvester to the front of your tractor. This machine will cut down the foliage and dig out the onions. Use the windrower on the back of your tractor to clean the onions and place them in a nice line.
  7. Picking up the onions: Switch to your other harvester and pick up all your onions.
  8. Selling or processing onions: Time for you to decide: What do you want to do with your harvested onions? You can sell them, process them into fried onions, salt, or soup.

Processing Onions: Products

Bring your onions to the vegetable processing plant to produce various products:

  • With oil and onions, you get fried onions
  • With just onions, you produce onion salt and soup

That's it!

Take care of your machinery and don't forget to clean them sometimes. Head back to the Academy for more tutorials. Keep on farming!
